About Us

The New Power Party (NPP), founded in 2015, emerged from Taiwan’s Sunflower Student Movement and advocates for progressive values such as human rights, social justice, and transparency. It champions LGBTQ+ rights, labor reforms, environmental sustainability, and indigenous welfare, while firmly supporting Taiwan’s sovereignty. The NPP strives to engage younger generations and promote grassroots participation, offering a fresh alternative to traditional politics. With its reform-oriented vision, the NPP continues to inspire civic engagement and work toward a more equitable and democratic society in Taiwan.

The Constitutional Court declared the exclusion of same-sex marriage in the Civil Code unconstitutional, and the New Power Party actively promoted the marriage equality in the Legislative Yuan.
